An honorable man, for his work was sure; 

A man of great faith, for his heart was pure.

George Washington was a very brave man,

He could have stayed at home, but he said, 

“Uh-uh! A gen’ral’s what we need.” 

He wouldn’t give in to adversity; 

His strength led his men on to victory.

George Washington was a prayerful man, 

A prayerful man indeed! 

He could have lost his faith, but he said, 

“Uh-uh! God’s help is what we need.” 

A steadfast man, for his heart was true; 

He turned to the Lord to know what to do.

He could have been the king, but he said, 

“Uh-uh! A king’s not what we need.” 

He wouldn’t be treated like royalty;
